INTRODUCTION

The Compagnie du TransGuinéen (CTG) was born from the common ambition of the Guinean State and major industrial partners in the Simandou project. The Guinean State currently holds 15% of CTG, with a share intended to reach 100% in the long term. Alongside the State, Simfer Infraco Guinée (Rio Tinto & Chinalco) and WCS Infraco (WCS Holding & Baowu) each hold 42.5% of the joint venture, which embodies a unique partnership to carry out one of the largest infrastructure projects in Africa. This ambitious project aims to create a railway network of over 620 km and two ports in Forécariah, which will play a strategic role in Guinea's regional economic integration, while supporting its logistical, mining, and industrial development. By connecting isolated regions, CTG enables the growth of internal trade and facilitates the diversification of the national economy.

La Compagnie du TransGuinéen (CTG) est née de l’ambition commune de l’État guinéen et de partenaires internationaux majeurs. l’État guinéen détient actuellement 15 % de la CTG, avec une part amenée à atteindre 100 % à terme. Aux côtés de l’État, Simfer Infraco (Rio Tinto & Chinalco) et WCS Infraco (WCS Holding & Baowu) détiennent chacun 42,5 % de la co-entreprise, qui incarne un partenariat unique pour réaliser l’un des plus grands projets d’infrastructure en Afrique. Ce projet ambitionne de créer un réseau ferroviaire de plus de 600km en zone montagneuse et un port en eau profonde, qui joueront un rôle stratégique dans l’intégration économique régionale de la Guinée, tout en soutenant son développement logistique, minier, et industriel.

Infrastructure for the future of Guinea
The Compagnie du TransGuinéen (CTG) is leading a major project in West Africa: the development of an integrated railway and port infrastructure network in Guinea, aimed at transforming the economic and social landscape of the region. The TransGuinéen railway will connect communities, promote trade, and stimulate economic growth in a sustainable manner.
Rail and port infrastructure to connect regions and stimulate the local economy
Once completed, all of the Simandou project's rail and port infrastructure will be transferred to and operated by CTG. The TransGuinéen railway, over 620 km long, will cross all four regions of Guinea, facilitating the transport of iron ore, people, and goods from southern Guinea to modern port facilities in Morebaya, Forécariah. This rail link is designed to improve logistics, optimize transport costs, and generate direct economic benefits for the traversed regions, notably through job creation and the stimulation of local economies.
